Ross up for SWPL Player of the Month Award

Natalie Ross

Celtic’s Natalie Ross has been shortlisted for the Scottish Building Society Scottish Women’s Premier League Player of the Month for February after a blistering start to the season.

Midfielder Ross has been in ruthless form, scoring three and creating one in the first two matches of 2019 with a deft double against Forfar Farmington on the opening day and an effort at Hibs. Her three goals so far make her joint top scorer with Kathleen McGovern after three games.

Eddie Wolecki Black, told the League: “I believe Natalie Ross is a fitting nomination for this award. Before the season began Natalie asked me what she needed to work on to improve her game and the answer I gave was that she needed to add goals.

“The start she has made to the season so far would suggest the hard work has paid off.

“It is no surprise to me that she has been nominated as player of the month and I hope to see her continue this form over the coming weeks and months and receive more nominations for this award.”

Up against former-Celt Kerry Montgomery of Motherwell, Hearts’ Rachel Walkingshaw and Glasgow Girls’ Toni Harkness, the vote closes on 11 March at 12pm and will be announced on 13 March.
