Girls Academy manager Edward Gallagher has named his 16-player squad that will defend Celtic’s under-15s title at this month’s Dana Cup in Denmark.
The competition, held in Hjorring, invites teams from all over the world to take part in tournaments at different age levels for both girls and boys, with Celtic coming out on top last year thanks to a Keira Chuter goal in the final.
The trip marks the club’s second youth adventure of the summer with the Hoops also sending an under-19s team to France for the Scania Cup last month. From that side, three players will also compete in Denmark, with Paige McAllister, Kate Nicolson and Rebecca McAllister set for action.
Gallagher’s squad is comprised of a fifty-fifty split of experience and youth with eight players from last year’s victorious side returning and eight debutants. Celtic have been drawn against three Norwegian sides in group three and will meet Freidig SPK, Nanset IF and Stord FB.
